Tejas, Richa grab top honours

Top-seed Tejas Kallolkar of Rajan’s Badminton Academy and unseeded Richa Muktibodh of Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) emerged champions in the under-15 categoriey of the boys’ and girls’ singles respectively in the Hollyhock State sub-junior badminton ranking tournament here on Tuesday.
Tejas got the better of second-seed Bhargav S Gowda 21-13, 21-5 in the final, while Richa wore the crown after upsetting fourth-seed Keerthana P Shroff of I-Sports 21-17, 21-17.
Top-seed Naren S Iyer, meanwhile, claimed the title in the boys’ U-13 singles. Naren outclassed second seed Sameeth S Dayanand, 21-14, 21-14 in the summit clash.
In the girls’ U-13 singles, Tanya Hemanth of I-Sports bagged top honours after defeating Kriti Bharadwaj of DYES 21-17, 21-13 in the title round.
